Slow morning of fishing.\u00a0 I got up before dawn and fished the Winthrop Bridge hole and Corral hole. Water temp was 40.3 deg.\u00a0 Slightly cooler than usual.\u00a0 Water level was up (305 cfs in Winthrop) and a small weather front came in.\u00a0 That combo was probably why the fish were lock jawed.\u00a0 I did get a nice report around noon from local guide Brian Whitney.\u00a0 He lost one of the biggest Steelhead of his life down by Stokes Road.\u00a0 With the coming rain and warm weather, we should have a great final week.\u00a0 I added a pic from last Monday when I got a chance to fish with Leaf Seaburg<\/a>.\u00a0 Nice fish Leaf!\u00a0 We also have great rates at the Inn<\/a> if you need a room.\u00a0 We are right across the street from the river and many guest hit the Corral hole before breakfast.\u00a0 If you are coming over to fish the Methow, I can mail you the hot flies so you can fish your way up the river with confidence.\u00a0 Give me a call and set you up.\u00a0 If you have any questions about my report, reply to this post down below.\u00a0 I will answer your questions as soon as possible.\u00a0 Tight Lines – Greg<\/p>\nChewuch River<\/b>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0CLOSED for fishing as of Aug 15th<\/p>\n
Methow River<\/b>\u00a0\u2013 OPEN for Steelhead fishing from the mouth to the confluence of the Methow and Chewuch Rivers (see the Fish Map for more details).\u00a0 We expect it to stay open until around the 15th of March.\u00a0 Flies to use:<\/b> double bead peacock stone fly size 8, hevi-bead glow-egg pattern size 6, frenchies size 10, black and white bead head wooly bugger size 8, egg sucking stone fly and egg sucking leeches sizes 8 or 10.<\/p>\n
