This one was great, Garth’s friend Jason was fish on so I scooped his fish, snapped a quick shot for him and ran because Garth was on too for doubles. Garth got his fish in fine then at the last minute the fish ran for a big bunch of wood on the bank and almost managed to break the line so I scooped his tail quick! Way to go Garth Fish On Buddy!

Methow Fishing Report
WOW! Now that was Awesome! Weeks like these make me wish steelhead season would never close. With the temps rising, some precip and the melting of lowland snow the water is still a bit higher than average which has lent to upstream push of our fish. The water for that matter though is significantly faster, greener below the Twisp River but still very calm and clear above that. As well the dreaded salmon snot is plaguing anglers down river too.
I have spent most time from about the downtown Twisp area to Winthrop and everywhere in between. Fish are picking up stones again, the week started with a preference toward goldens and ended leaning heavily towards the peacock stone. Water is still pretty slow so I’m rigging about 1.25 times water depth to my indicator (trying to touch bottom every now and then).
I wanted to give a shout out to Garth and his first steelhead he, Jason and I had an incredible couple of days. Garths first steel came in a doubles session between him and Jason and almost escaped in a bush at the last second. I have feel blessed this season for getting to meet so many great folks and to have had such a good time.
Steelhead season will close Monday March 31st at one hour after sunset, we have a couple of openings still and the fishing is HOT so check out our guide page and give a call or shoot us an email, we’ll get you out on the water and having FUN! Fish On Ya’ll!

Methow Fishing Report
It’s been another fantastic week of fishing on the Methow with many great people and many great fish to hand. The temps are coming up around 10:30 and the many layers dawned in the morning come off quick. The full moon has passed and is waning so as the day warms the bight has to as of late, as well with warming temps insects are beginning to hatch in greater numbers again.
As for locations for best fishing I would focus on Methow area north as far up as Winthrop, fish have started to arrive at their destination leading to growing numbers in the upper river. Water level has come up a bit and look for more of the same as temps gradually climb.
Last season we had a significant rise is water level due to temps which shut fishing down for a few days so keep your fingers crossed for moderate or even cold weather.
Fish are starting to key in on stones again and to be sure they will take egg patterns as some ripe females will start to drop them soon. As well small nymphs and chironimids are still working well, green red and brown have been productive colors.
If you are interested in booking a trip we still have a few openings left, not sure how long season will last so give us a call we’ll get you out on the river have fun!
